This position can be based either in our Amsterdam or Paris office

Who we are

WEBB Traders is a fast-growing, global proprietary trading company, driven by data and technology. We act as a market maker, using our own capital to trade on global stock and derivatives exchanges. By leveraging a large network of interdealer brokers and the latest advancements in electronic trading technology, we add liquidity to the financial markets specialized in cash equity and derivatives.

Since our very first trade in 2009, WEBB’s headquarters have been based in Amsterdam, nowadays supported by a strong presence in Paris. With our 70 employees of over 25 different nationalities, we are united in our great ambition to grow WEBB into a global leader in arbitrage and liquidity.

Join us to accelerate your career in the unique trading culture of openness, community, enjoyment, and boundary-free entrepreneurship.

Join the team and become an expert at maintaining and evolving a high-performance, distributed IT production environment.

You will be part of the SRE team, responsible for the production environment of the company. We work in close collaboration with the in-house end-users of our systems; the traders, risk managers, compliance officers and back-office operations to ensure a smooth day-to-day operation. This involves acquiring and configuring hardware and software, monitoring health and performance, tuning, troubleshooting and fixing when there are issues. And above all, building the tools to simplify these activities and increasing our quality and effectiveness as a team. With your engineering mindset and critical eye, you will be introducing structural improvements, removing toil, and evolving our production toolchain, solidifying the foundation on which we build towards becoming a competitive firm trading globally.

Do you enjoy helping people and devising simple and clean solutions to complex challenges? Apply now!

Your role

  • Ensuring a smooth operation of our production environment; the hardware and software which is built both in-house and by third-party vendors

  • Frequent interactions with our users; answering questions and troubleshooting in case of issues, and understanding their drivers and needs

  • Strong collaboration with the development team in building high quality production solutions

  • Learning about the trading domain, our systems, and what is needed from an IT perspective to run a trading firm

  • Building tools in Python or C++ to increase the effectiveness of the team, as well as the performance and reliability of our production environment

Job requirements

What you bring to WEBB

  • Eager, curious and fast learner

  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a ‘get it done’-mentality

  • Critical eye for complexity and non-value-adding work

  • Programming skills (Python, bash, nice to have: C++)

  • Fluent in English (nice to have: French for our Paris office)
