Junior Legal Counsel

Who we are

WEBB Traders is a fast-growing, global proprietary trading company, driven by data and technology. We act as a market maker, using our own capital to trade on global stock and derivatives exchanges. By leveraging a large network of interdealer brokers and the latest advancements in electronic trading technology, we add liquidity to the financial markets specialized in cash equity and derivatives.  

Since our very first trade in 2009, WEBB’s headquarters have been based in Amsterdam, nowadays supported by a strong presence in Paris. With our 70 employees of over 25 different nationalities, we are united in our great ambition to grow WEBB into a global leader in arbitrage and liquidity.  

Are you the emerging legal talent with an interest in the international financial markets?

We are looking for a motivated Legal Counsel to join our team. Entering into, and maintaining, contractual relationships with counterparties (banks, brokers, exchanges) will be part of your daily activities, as will be advising on general legal matters and maintaining the corporate housekeeping.  Obviously, you will not have to do this all on your own, you will be coached by an experienced legal counsel who will enable you to learn and grow into a more senior role in the organisation. 

Your role

• Provide legal support to various departments within the company

• Judge and maintain legal contracts with external commercial parties

• Monitor and assess the impact of upcoming laws and regulations, discuss this with other team members

• Prepare, and take minutes of shareholder meetings and Advisory Board meetings

• Organize and maintain the corporate housekeeping.

Who are you

• You have an interest in the international financial markets.

• You have completed a Master’s degree in Financial Law or Corporate Law

• You have 1–3 years of experience at a law firm or financial services provider such as a bank, trading firm, market maker or hedge fund

• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch 

• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• You have a hands-on mentality and the ability to work under pressure 

• You are responsible, trustworthy, and enjoy working in an international team
