WEBB has opportunities for a Medior/Senior Application Support specialist in Amsterdam.

WEBB Traders is looking for a medior/senior application support specialist. You will be part of the IT-Support team, responsible for the support of hardware and software solutions used by the company. You will be working together with three IT Support colleagues, helping the company with troubleshooting and the life-cycle management of all applications used by the company. One of the main tasks is to help the internal users to work efficiently and effectively with the trading system. Deliver assistance in acquiring software, prepare the servers, install the software, configure it, load data into it, tune it, upgrade it, and repair it when there are problems. Additionally you will help and train the users across the company. For a sustainable maintenance, you will create processes and protocols for software.

Your work will mainly consist of

  • Application management of trading software and other in-house and off-the-shelf solutions
  • Build and manage a relationship with key suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationship with key users, to understand their business drivers and requirements, working with the developers to deliver technical solutions as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain system documentation and procedures that includes application support procedures, systems and technical configuration documentation and user training for new features and plug-ins
  • Manage and plan a schedule for maintenance, upgrades and releases for hardware and software
  • Change control for all business applications and ensure thorough system and UAT testing prior to a controlled release of features and ensure all changes are fully documented
  • Provide incidental support outside core hours for extended support during upgrades and implementations when required
  • But most of all, you are focused on troubleshooting during trading hours, especially at market opening and closing, to help traders to maximize their trading result

Requirements

Who are you

  • Eager, curious and the capability to learn fast
  • Completed a Bachelor or Master degree, or equivalent level of working and thinking
  • Driven to deliver quick results, combined with finding and solving root-causes
  • Application management experience in a trading environment
  • First line application support / service desk experience, user support principles and practices
  • Knowledge of trading business
  • Knowledge of system design, development and implementation
  • Experience running a mission critical system, with troubleshooting, showing a quick level of understanding and problem analysis, and be solution oriented
  • Administration of Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP
  • Administration of name services (e.g. DNS)
  • Strong communications skills, verbally both in Dutch and English; ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and functional (trading) information to a technical audience

Not required, but nice to have

  • ASL / BiSL knowledge or certificate
  • Familiarity with agile and change & project management principles
  • Experience preparing requirements, workflow and process analyses
  • Experience with Atlassian suite (Confluence, JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, BitBucket)
